Richard Barltrop is Visiting Senior Fellow at the Middle East Centre, London School of Economics and Political Science. His research focuses on contemporary international approaches to peacemaking and why peace processes fail or succeed. He has worked for the United Nations in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. He is the author of Darfur and the international community: the challenges of conflict resolution in Sudan (2011).

Amanda Coffie is Senior Research Fellow at the Legon Center for International Affairs and Diplomacy at the University of Ghana. Her research critically examines the silences of International Relations, as well as the role of non-state actors in politics and practices of post-conflict development. She has published on comparative cases concerning African refugees, diaspora and migrants, both within and outside Africa, addressing issues related to agency, gender, resource transformation, experiences, community development involvement and efforts to rebuild societies after conflict. She is a Cambridge–Africa Partnership for Research Excellence (CAPREx) Scholar at the University of Cambridge. Her research spans countries such as Ghana, Liberia, Guinea, The Gambia, Botswana, Canada and the United Kingdom.
