Summary

Cellobiose uptake activity in Streptomyces granaticolor is considered to be inducible, cellobiose itself being the nutritional inducer. Uptake activity is energy-dependent and may represent an active transport. Glucose inhibits the induction of the cellobiose uptake system, but not its activity.
