Throughout the article by Park et al. (2010), the five proteins, arbitrarily named Erm_OCEIH, Erm_BACHA, Erm_TROPI, Erm_SALIN and Erm_NOCAR, are currently only candidate erm genes that have been electronically annotated. To avoid unnecessary confusion, it should be stated that their function has not been confirmed experimentally. In addition, GenBank accession numbers listed in Table 1 correspond to protein accession numbers rather than DNA accession numbers.
