2019 has been an incredibly successful year both for the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing (EJCN) and the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professionals (ACNAP) and it is important to acknowledge and thank some of those who have been involved in this success.

We would like to thank all our 2019 reviewers, who are the cornerstone of our journal. These top reviewers evaluated four or more manuscripts on reliability and accuracy of the research:

Katherine Reeder, Britt Borregaard, Diane Carroll, Eva Goossens, Izabella Uchmanowicz, Jeong-Ah Ahn, Jeroen Hendriks, Ursula Chaney, Sandra Lauck, and Ida Højskov.

Britt Borregaard advices all researchers, particularly younger researchers, to become a reviewer:

‘Being a reviewer helps me improve my research and writing skills by the critical appraisal and understandings of fundamentals in research methodologies. Reviewing keeps me updated on the latest research within cardiovascular nursing—letting me know, what “hot” before it’s out’.

Reviewing for scientific journals allows individuals to develop critical appraisal skills and allows them to be updated on the latest developments in their field. It is widely acknowledged that being a reviewer is a great addition to your CV and demonstrates a breadth of skill.1

The EJCN is keen to welcome new reviewers for further information please contact Nora Östrup, our administrator, [email protected].

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the #ACNAP & #EJCN Social Media team, who have enabled a greater reach for the publications by promoting articles on social media and which has resulted in higher citations.2

To increase the visibility of the work of ACNAP and to ensure that information is communicated in a timely manner, we have developed the @ACNAPPresident account and an ACNAP community on LinkedIn.

Further ways to interact with ACNAP and EJCN include the very successful Journal Club which can be found on YouTube and we have also developed a Podcast for the journal on Anchor (EJCN).
