A 58-year-old woman with endoscopic submucosal resection of hamartomatous polyp 2 years ago underwent chest computed tomography and oesophagogram, which revealed an oesophageal longitudinal mass containing fatty density and originating from the proximal oesophagus (A and B). Endoscopy showed the submucosal mass with intact mucosa (C). Complete resection performed through a right cervical incision confirmed liposarcoma (D) and resulted in a satisfactory outcome.
