Case Description
A 31-year-old female was seen in the outpatient department in a local government hospital. No clinical history was provided. The following thyroid function results were noted. Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) <0.01 IU/L (reference interval 0.35–5.5); free thyroxine (FT4) <1.3 pmol/L (reference interval 11.5–22.7).
The serum sample was reanalyzed on the same and another platform with no change in results. Internal quality control was acceptable for both tests.
