Abstract
This chapter assesses British elections from 1983–92. It analyses the campaigns and results of the 1983, 1987, and 1992 elections, along with voter turnout and voting behaviour. It describes Margaret Thatcher's first term from 1979–83, second term from 1983–87, and the demise of Thatcher and the Social Democratic Party from 1987–92.
