Abstract
This chapter explores the presence and development of Hinduism in the United States, focusing on its growth due to immigration and its adaptation within a predominantly non-Hindu society. It examines how Hinduism has maintained its traditional practices while also evolving in response to the American cultural context. The chapter discusses the demographic trends influencing Hinduism in the United States, particularly the community’s efforts to preserve religious identity across generations. The challenges faced by Hindu communities, including maintaining religious practices and integrating into the broader American society, are also analyzed. The chapter concludes by reflecting on the potential future trajectory of Hinduism in America, considering factors such as interfaith interactions and the retention of younger generations within the faith.
