Abstract
This chapter explains the notion of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) as per Article 32 of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC). It notes the establishment of CoP as the institutional body to facilitate and review the implementation of UNTOC by States Parties. The COP aims to improve the capacity of States Parties to combat transnational organized crime and to promote and review the implementation of UNTOC. Moreover, Article 32 provides the basis for the UNTOC Review Mechanism that was launched in 2020. The chapter explains how the CoP must agree upon a mechanism for achieving objectives in line with the Convention.
