Abstract

Cardiothoracic Critical Care addresses major recent developments in cardiothoracic critical care, such as cardiovascular support, mechanical support (IABP, VADS, and ECMO), and drug therapies such as nitric oxide and other new inotropic agents. The management of postoperative bleeding is covered in detail, as it increasingly involves updated fluid and blood-product therapies, including blood preservation techniques such as cell salvage.
