Abstract
Chapter 1 covers the assessment of the patient's eating problem, if there is an eating disorder present, the facts about bulimia nervosa (BN) and binge-eating disorder (BED), and if the program right for the patient. It includes case studies, causes, patient motivation, simultaneous treatment, medications, treatment benefits, CBT and its effectiveness, beginning therapy, homework, and self-assessment questions.
