This is a correction to: Mitra Ebrahimpoor, Jelle J Goeman, Inflated false discovery rate due to volcano plots: problem and solutions, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Volume 22, Issue 5, September 2021, bbab053, https://doi.org/10.1093/bib/bbab053
In the originally published version of this article, there is an error in the following formula in the FDP control section:
$$ \begin{align*} \mathrm{P}(\mathrm{FDP}(D) \geq \overline{\mathrm{FDP}}(D)\ \textrm{for all}\ D)\geq 1-\alpha. \qquad\qquad\quad\qquad\end{align*}$$
This formula should have been given as follows:
$$ \begin{align*} \mathrm{P}(\mathrm{FDP}(D) \leq \overline{\mathrm{FDP}}(D)\ \textrm{for all}\ D)\geq 1-\alpha. \end{align*}$$
These details have been corrected only in this correction notice to preserve the published version of record.
