As an enhanced service to our readers, Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ) is pleased to announce the addition of a Book Review section, beginning with this issue (January/February 2010). Each issue, experts in the field will review recently published texts on various topics in aesthetic surgery, cosmetic medicine, and aesthetic aspects of reconstructive surgery, as well as books written for the general public that might be of interest to our readership. Books submitted for review are written not only by plastic surgeons but also by physicians in other specialties who share interests and expertise in these same areas.
In general, the experts we invite to review these texts are selected on the basis of relevant interest and knowledge. Every effort is made to select a reviewer from the same specialty as the text’s authors whenever possible. The reviews are solely the opinion of the reviewer, but you may feel confident that their reports are well considered in light of their own practical experience in our field. I am personally honored to be acting as Editor of the Book Review section and would like to thank each of the reviewers (Drs. Young and Patipa, in this issue) for their time and effort on behalf of ASJ’s readers.
