Cover illustration: The inset cover image shows a carrion fly (Sarcophagidae) leaving a Satyrium pumilum (Orchidaceae) flower, with pollinaria of this orchid species attached to its thorax. These flies are attracted to the non-rewarding orchid flowers by the floral scent, which resembles that of carrion. Evidence suggests that a relatively weak scent emission rate causes S. pumilum specifically to mimic small carrion to which other common carrion flies are not attracted. See van der Niet et al. (pp. 981-992).
