On 7 Sep 2022, a redbanded stinkbug insecticide efficacy trial was conducted at Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville, Mississippi, to evaluate 10 insecticides compared to an untreated check. Field studies were implemented as a randomized complete block with 4 replications. All plots received applications with a MUDMASTER, 4WD Multi-Purpose Sprayer (Bowman manufacturing, Newport, Arkansas) equipped with a compressed-air high-clearance mounted multi-boom calibrated to deliver 10 gallons per acre at 50 PSI using TX-6 Hollow Cone nozzles (2 nozzles per row) (TeeJet Technologies, Glendale, Illinois). The treatments included Orthene 90S, Endigo ZCX, Wrangler 4F, Brigade 2EC, Leverage 360, Belay, Brigade 2EC + Orthene 90S, Brigade 2EC + Wrangler 4F, Leverage 360 + Orthene 90S, and Brigade 2EC + Belay. Redbanded stink bugs were sampled 2, 7, and 14 days after treatment (DAT) by taking 25 sweeps per plot with a 38.1-cm-diameter sweep net. Adult and nymph counts were combined together and held equal weight. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, and means were separated using Fishers protected LSD (P ≤ 0.05).

At 2 DAT, all insecticide treatments significantly reduced redbanded stink bug numbers compared to the untreated check. By 7 DAT, Leverage 360 + Orthene 90S, Brigade 2EC + Belay, Brigade + Orthene 90S, Leverage 360, and Orthene 90S had the lowest number of redbanded stinkbugs compared to the untreated check. All of the insecticides, except Wrangler, reduced stink bug densities compared to the untreated check. Only Brigade 2EC + Orthene 90S reduced stink bug densities compared to the untreated check at 14 DAT (Table 1).1
