Abstract
Experimental insecticide V-71639, alone and with Silwet silicone adjuvant, were compared to Danitol and Admire for efficacy against CMB and CWWF on container-grown citrus in the greenhouse. Treatments were randomized and replicated on 9 ‘Ruby Red’ grapefruit trees each ca. 2 ft high. Trees were sprayed to foliar runoff using a TQ-40 Koke Kap backpack CO2 sprayer at 32 psi. Control trees received a water spray. At 7-day-intervals posttreatment, mature young leaves (10 per treatment) were randomly collected and all live CMB (except eggs) and lst-4th stage CWWF were counted under a binocular microscope at 20X. CWWF were recorded as live if body^ fluid was released when probed with a needle.
