Abstract
Insecticides were applied to mature trees in Fennville, MI (Black Block) at a rate of 100 gpa with an FMC CP 3000 airblast sprayer. Treatments were arranged in a completely randomized design of 27-tree plots, replicated 4 times. Applications of materials were made on 12 Sep (pre-harvest) as indicated in the table. Captan, Dithane, Nova, Funginex and Manzate were applied separately to all treatments. Leafhopper evaluations were made on 12 Sep (pre-count), 13 Sep, 14 Sep, 19 Sep and 27 Sep by running a vacuum suction sampler over limbs and foliage for one minute (all sides and center of the tree), in each of three trees (sub-samples from center of replicate plots), for all three replicates of each treatment. Samples were separated and held in nylon stockings, frozen and then WALH adults counted.
