The meeting of the Board of Directors was held in Baltimore, MD, in conjunction with the ASHP Summer Meetings. The following members of the Board were present: Paul C. Walker, Chair; Nishaminy Kasbekar, Vice Chair; Linda S. Tyler; Kimberley W. Benner; Leigh A. Briscoe-Dwyer; Samuel V. Calabrese; Melanie A. Dodd; Vivian Bradley Johnson; Christene M. Jolowsky; Pamela K. Phelps; Jamie S. Sinclair; and Paul W. Abramowitz, Chief Executive Officer. Also present were Vickie L. Powell, Board Member Elect; Jennifer E. Tryon, Board Member Elect; and various ASHP staff members.

The following is a summary of actions taken by the Board:

  • Ratified the May 24, 2023, summary ballot approval of the minutes of the April 13-14, 2023, Board meetings.

  • Ratified the April 12, 2023, summary ballot approval endorsement of “2023 AHA/ACC Clinical Performance and Quality Measures for Coronary Artery Revascularization.”

  • Ratified the April 12, 2023, summary ballot approval of the joint ASHP-SIDP Statement on the Pharmacist’s Role in Antimicrobial Stewardship.

Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission

  • Approved the actions of the Pharmacy Technician Accreditation Commission meeting of May 3-4, 2023, regarding ASHP accreditation of pharmacy technician training programs and technician program directors.

Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Commission

  • Approved the additions to criteria for Certified Pharmacy Executive Leadership eligibility as reported by the Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Commission.

International Accreditation Commission

  • Approved actions of the International Accreditation Commission regarding ASHP International Hospital and Health-System Pharmacy Services accreditation.

ASHP Foundation

  • Approved nomination to the ASHP Foundation Board.

Public Awareness Campaign

  • Approved the proposal on the public awareness campaign for the pharmacy workforce in hospitals and health systems.

House of Delegates

  • Duly considered the policy recommendations amended by the House of Delegates at its first meeting and took final action on them pursuant to Section 7.3.1.1 of the ASHP Bylaws.

The next meeting of the Board was held in Bethesda, MD, on September 14-15, 2023.
