This meeting of the Board of Directors was in Bethesda, MD. The following members of the Board were present: Paul C. Walker, Chair; Nishaminy Kasbekar, Vice Chair; Linda S. Tyler; Kim W. Benner; Samuel V. Calabrese; Leigh A. Briscoe-Dwyer; Melanie A. Dodd; Vivian Bradley Johnson; Christene M. Jolowsky; Pamela K. Phelps; Jamie S. Sinclair; and Paul W. Abramowitz, Chief Executive Officer. Also present were Vickie L. Powell, Board Member Elect; Jennifer Tryon, Board Member Elect; and various ASHP staff members.

The following is a summary of actions taken by the Board:

  • Ratified the July 22, 2022, summary ballot approval of the minutes of the June 11, 14, and 28, 2022, Board meetings.

  • Ratified the July 14, 2022, summary ballot approval of the ASHP Guidelines on Preventing Diversion of Controlled Substances.

  • Ratified the August 15, 2022, summary ballot approval of the Joint Letter Regarding Reproductive Health and Access to Medically Necessary Medications.

  • Ratified the September 2, 2022, summary ballot approval of the minutes of the July 26-28, 2022, Board of Directors meeting.

Commission on Finance and Audit

  • Accepted the FY2022 audited financial statements present by ASHP’s independent audit firm, Aronson LLC.

Commission on Affiliate Relations

  • Approved a revised policy on the membership mission, scope, and focus of ASHP and its state affiliates and took other actions on Commission on Affiliate Relations recommendations regarding affiliation with ASHP.

Councils

  • Duly considered and approved the policy recommendations of the ASHP Councils on Pharmacy Management and Therapeutics.

International Accreditation Commission

  • Accepted all voted recommendations of the International Accreditation Commission meeting of June 29, 2022.

Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Commission

  • Accepted all voted recommendations of the Pharmacy Practice Accreditation Commission meeting of August 25, 2022.

Commission on Credentialing

  • Accepted all voted actions that address ASHP accreditation of pharmacy residency programs and pharmacy technician programs from the Commission on Credentialing meeting of August 12-14, 2022.

The next meeting of the Board was held in Bethesda, MD, on January 19-20, 2023.
